Many of us, without knowing it, give to and receive healing from our animals and nature on a very simple level. By just loving and caring for not only ourselves but our pets too and appreciating the beauty and peace of the natural world we draw to us energies that heal.

We live in an ever-changing world where stress is high due to the increasing demands made on our time and our lives by the society, we live in. This has far reaching effects on our wellbeing and those around us including our animals, so it makes sense to learn ways of dealing with this, so everyone benefits. Healing ourselves increases our energy and wellbeing, we become happier, have more control over our lives, make better choices which all in all raises our level of consciousness and energy vibration. This in turn has a knock-on effect on those around us and allows us to start healing our animals and become aware of our animals healing us too.

We often don’t notice small changes that are happening in our body when we are too busy, tired and stressed until symptoms appear of ill health. So what can we do? Well we need to slow down and have some quality time where there are no distractions and we can give our sole attention to ourselves. If we have a pet then we can sit with them and give them some quality time too. You can take the first step by following this short exercise, read it through first and then have a go:

  1. Choose a time and place to sit comfortably and undisturbed (by phones, noise or interruptions) and with your pet if you have one.

  2. Turn your focus to your own breath and gently slow your breathing down a little and imagine, if you can, your breath going all the way down into your tummy and feel the different temperature of the air in your nose as you breathe in and out.

  3. As you settle into the rhythm of your breathing, relax and bring to mind a memory where you felt happy and content, absorbed in where ever your focus was at the time.

  4.  Give it all of your attention, and notice the feeling it evokes and where it is in your body.

  5. Stay with this as long as you can as your body uses the positive energy created by your happy thought to resource itself.

This exercise can take as little or as long as you want, notice how your pet reacts to this, they will love it.
