Dog Behaviour Problems

Emily completed her degree in Animal Behaviour Science in 2005 and has experience working with pets. Over recent years her work has focused on helping owners with dog behaviour problems, and she is now able to offer healing alongside natural training techniques to help resolve many behavioural issues.

How Asentia Can Improve Your Dog Behaviour Problems

By working with dogs at 'their level' and teaching owners about their needs, Emily is able to improve the relationship between owner and pet. Through no fault of our own, we often humanise our pets and forget about their natural instincts and behavioural needs. Emily is able to share her knowledge with owners in order to deepen their understanding, and help them bring the whole environment back into a state of balance so that each individual animal can live without stress, helping to improve their behaviour.

Using healing alongside behavioural training helps animals to release physical and emotional trauma, re-balancing the energy system. This allows them to be more settled and focussed on the training, and can also help with specific problem areas as a result of past traumatic experiences, such as phobias and fear induced behaviour.

By working with a mixture of healing and behavioural training Emily has been able to help dogs with issues such as; dominance, jumping up, pulling on the lead, coming back when called, aggression, chewing and many others.

Asentia treatments do not provide a diagnosis of your animal’s problems, but aim to complement any veterinary care that is required. Please be aware that it may be necessary for Asentia to get the permission of your vet before undergoing treatment.

What is Involved in a Dog Behaviour Consultation?

During a consultation Emily will come out to the owner's home in order to assess the problem behaviour within the animal's normal environment. A detailed consultation form will need to be completed and this will ascertain which training steps need to be undertaken and whether healing sessions may be useful. By assessing the problems that have developed within your home Emily is then able to give you advice about how to correct your dog behaviour problems using natural methods, leaving you with notes to put the new training into action.

How Much Does a Consultation Cost?

The first session costs £75 for 2 hours which includes a detailed case history and instruction on how to deal with the problem behaviour, and may also include a healing session. Sessions are tailored to the individual and your pet may receive both healing and behaviour treatment during a session. For this reason all sessions vary in length - the hourly rate is £35, or £17.50 per half-hour. The consultation will always take place at the owner's home and petrol is charged at 40p per mile.
